Sustainability is the Foundation of the Group’s Strategy

Atos' second Corporate Responsibility report has been rated Level A+ in line with the guidelines from the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) - the international standard for sustainability reporting.

 

A+ is the highest level qualification from the GRI requiring entire management disclosure on sustainability performance standards and assurance by a third external party. An online version of the Corporate Responsibility Report can be viewed here.

A+ Rating Positions Atos as Best-in-Class

 

As the first IT services company that joined GRI in 2009, the company has made considerable progress in its sustainable achievements. Within its transformation program TOP (Total Operational Performance), the group has committed to establishing sustainability at the core of its strategy and business processes.

 

In 2010, Atos delivered a number of key commitments in the business, social and environmental levels, including:

 

  • Launched its "Wellbeing@work" initiative, to achieve tangible improvements in employees’ work environment and announced its ambition to run a business without internal email within 3 years
  • Joined the United Nations Global Compact – to operate under universally recognized responsible business principles
  • Realized a 16% reduction in its global carbon footprint since 2008 at comparable scope; and decided to offset the carbon emissions of all its data centers worldwide, thus becoming the first international IT Group to offer Carbon Neutral hosting services
  • Developed a Sustainable Solutions portfolio – Ambition Carbon Free, Smart Grid, Intelligent Workplaces, Green IT – that enable clients to transform to a sustainable business model
